Default Speedo cable converter

Hey guys, do any of you know if and if so where to buy a speedometer cable converter to convert the speedo from mechanical to an electric signal. I am having problems with my tach and my speedo both, my gas gauge also lags of how much gas is in the tank, and my water temp works when it wants to.

The problem with my speedo is that the gauge bounces around until about 50 mph and then starts to get steady, but never really does. The problem with my tach is that it will get stuck completely and get unstuck and restuck and it is a real annoyance.

Does anybody know the size of the gas tank off of their heads?

Anywho my plan was just to get some autometer gauges, and make a custom gauge holder panel out of fiberglass and have some nice new cool looking gauges. Any opinions or suggestions are welcome.

My speedo bounces around too, it does this on all the Sidekicks I've ever driven.

However, the rest of your problems are certainly valid.

Default Bouncy Speedometer & Laggy Gas Guage

Yeah My Speedometer is bouncy too up until about 70kph then it gets smooth. It is a little annoying, i'll live with it though rather then replace the unit. I find my gas gauge is laggy too. When I fill the tank it will take 5 or 10 mins to give a "full" reading.

well certainly nice to know that I am not the only one with these problems! haha. But I am doing a lot of custom mods to my kik so I would really like to either fix these problems, or better yet get a signal converter that will work with the Sidekicks cable and create a custom gauge array, as I more than likely will also be doing a whole new custom dash board also later down the road. So I mean I also will live with it, but eventually I would like to do something about the problem, so I wanted to know if any one knew of a cable to electric converter that works with our cars. Until then I will be here working on another project for my kik haha.

You wanna laugh? I was driving my Zuki around earlier looking for clues to my SES light and the tach was at 0RPM for the first few minutes until I revved the engine up, then it went normal.

Oh and yeah, my fuel gauge is also laggy, takes a good 2 minutes for it to show F.

Mine became bouncy, then sounded like a squirrel cage. Had it lubed with motor oil..smooth again, and squirrel is dead.

Pull out your speedo cable and lube it, stops the bouncing. On my 3 spd aauto it was about a 15 minute job. Tracka
