Pretty much everything would be a problem. That motor was never offered in the Sidekick so you would need to fabricate new motor mounts, The swift is a transversely mounted FWD so you'll have to find a transmission that will bolt up and drive the rear wheels probably with a custom drive shaft not to mention the transfer case, I am pretty sure none of the Sidekick transmissions will bolt up. Or you could try replacing the front axle with with the Swift's setup. Either way it would be a lot of time and money only to put a smaller, weaker, less powerful motor, with less potential into an already underpowered vehicle.

Default Reason Why...

I've had the sidekick for about a yr. I know not alot will believe me but I have over 10,000usd in it and only bought it for 3,000. The engine is cranking out an easy 125hp. I can burn 1st 2nd and on a good day 3rd. I bought a 93 chevy w/ a 6.5 t diesel and now have to sell to the kicker. I know I'll never see anything close to getting my money back so I was thinking put the cali engine in my gf's 93' metro. It came factory w/ only 65hp and with the 12inch tires the engine would make it the faster metro ever!!! If it held together.

What are the odds of taking the cab off the kick, bring in the rear axle and drop the metro unibody on it? That would be worth it, then come w/ mini fab steel ranch hands??? That'd be awesome!

First It would be nowear near the fastest metro ever. There is a 350+ HP Swift in Austrailia. Why wouldn't you just swap the G16 in the metro, this is not an uncomon swap. TeamSwift :: Index
