Could also be engine mount. Does it still do it when you're stopped and revving the motor up to the same revs it would have at that speed?

Mine does something similar at 3000RPM but it's my catalytic converter starting to come loose.

I have that on my '91. Did you remove it or did you tie it down with some metal mesh?

In my '98 it was actually the exhaust manifold cover rusting and coming loose, I pulled it a bit apart to provide space between it and the manifold and it stopped.

Sorry if I'm hi-jacking this thread but I first suspected that the exhaust manifold cover was to blame but after removing it did nothing. I eventually realized that it was the cat cover as the noise was influenced by the drive train and the cat. mount is attached to the tranny. After many months of frustration I cut it off with a torch, my cat. is gutted and there really is no need for a cover as it dosent get as hot.

i had a bad vibration and it turned out to be the universal joint on the rear propshaft being shot.

Default vibation

Yeah, My cat heat shield came loose and vibrated as well. I secured it with some big metal hose clamps and the noise went away. It would vibrate at highway speeds and at idle and was ultra annoying.

Check that and also check the U joints on your drive shaft.

Can you feel the vibration in your steering wheel?
