where is the hood latch?!

hey everyone, just purchased a 1995 4door JX sidekick and my battery just died and i cannot get the hood open. i looked everywhere for the latch and its nowhere to be found... i cant find a cable or anything as well.... can someone provide a pic or tell me where it is? thanks....

The hood release is in the glove box.
