OK So I my clutch on my 1996 Tracker is wearing. It slips alittle in fourth.
Anyway, today I could not get it to change gears after driving it for 25miles.
It acted like the cable was too loose. I tried tightening the cable some but it still would not let me change gears. I had to start the car in 1st and creap along.
Does this sound like something that would happen with a worn clutch?
On a motorcycle, you will always beable to disengage the clutch it will just work less and less as it wears.
OK, second question.
Do I have to completely pull the tranny to get the clutch out or can I half ass it with everything still on the truck but slid back?

It's simple...does the clutch fork arm MOVE significantly when you depress the pedal full travel with at least a 1/2" of free play at the pedal top? If it doesn't, it's a cable issue.
IF the arm moves...it's an internal clutch problem.

I think I feel the arm moving. It feels different as my foot aproaches the floor now. Almost like it will stay down like it passes a halfway point.
Not sure if any of this makes sense. I am in the middle of a motor swap on my streetbike. I am trying not to get my computer dirty
