Default Will not start cold, 89 tracker 1.6 auto 4x4

I just got this thing, seems pretty decent for what I want out of it. The check engine light is on, and I have searched thru the posts and could not find any switches anywhere behind the speaker or under the steering column cover, I have the speaker out at this time and can see the computer and all the wiring, I cannot find a switch anywhere under the dash. Anyway I got it as a non running vehicle but I just love carburetor cleaner, I have like a thousand uses for this stuff, So I got it to run by sprying it on the intake hose. Once it catches after a couple minutes of sprying it runs on it's own. I am thinking cold start injector here, but I'd like so input if anybody wants to chime in as I don't know much about these cars.
I will be driving this around my property for now until I can assess it's mechanical condition and then decide on it's fate. I'd like to try and get the CK Eng lite to go out, and figure out the cold no start issue, also the water pump is dripping, does the timing belt need to come off to replace it?
thanks in advance for your help.

I went on the autozone site and came up with some diagnosis and the code definitions. I found my plug today in front of the battery burried in crud, I was able to jumper the terminals and the light just stays on steady so I guess the ECM is no good. I also read up that there is no cold start injector on these trucks. thanks for all your help
