Default coolant leak at back of head

I've found the general vicinity of my elusive coolant leak. It's coming from the back of the head probably where the main radiator line and small line from the back of the water pump housing converge in some kind of housing. It's very hard to see that area.
Does anyone know what might be the source of the leak? I replaced the water pump and moved that small metal line that goes back to that area. Does it have an o-ring that seals it at the back end? Any other possible source for a leak in that area?
Can't find a diagram of what is happening back there in my Chilton's manual.

Think I found the source of the problem. The heater inlet and outlet hoses attach behind the head. I think they are leaking. I've ordered the parts (dealer only item--special order--pain in the neck). The area is virtually inaccessible but I will replace the hoses and report back. The hoses seem very lightweight compared to traditional heater hoses so I'm not that surprised if they have failed and all the evidence so far points to them as the source of the leak. It's very hard to get a good view of the area, even with an inspection mirror so I'm concluding it is a hose problem just from running my fingers around the hoses.

Removing the intake manifold will really open that area up.

That's why the instructions on replacement aren't in the Chilton's manual! To embarassing to have the first step read: Remove the intake manifold.
If I lay over the top of the engine I may be able to do it by feel.
