exhaust bracket?

i got a 1992 4 door 16 valve. there is a support bracket that goes from the catalytic converter and attaches on the tranny. i have always had it attached. was wondering if any of you guys have it off with stock exhaust and does it take away from supporting the exhaust properly?

mines not on, bolts had seized on the exhaust and its was cut off and i have not replaced it.
there is a little more movement in the system but ok other wise
