Default 94 Tracker radio display Brightness

Hi
After my wife totalled my 92 Asuna I went and bought a 94 Tracker LSI
It has a Factory cassette Radio. I do not have an owners Manual and therefore I dont know wether the Display is dimmed or if there is a bulb behind the display burnt out or if the display is that of a high voltage Gas type. Anyway if it is a Bright day outside and the sun is lighting up the display I am able to see the Text (barely) if is is not a bright day I can not see anything at all which should be opposite providing that the radio has an automatic daylight sensor.
As I check in here infrequently I would appreciate for someone that knows the ansawer to Email me at klaemt@telus.net
Thanks
professor
