92 Sidekick Wiring Trouble (Radio?)

I just bought a 92 Sidekick and tried to install an aftermarket radio. When I got done, not only did the radio not work, but now my dash lights, dome light, and TailLights (running lights only, NOT brake lights) don't work.

All I did was cut the old plug from the previous aftermarket radio and install my new radio plug, matching the wires (color to color).

WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!?? Please help!

check mthe light fuse. It sounds like you hooked the new radio's ground to the lite wire.

is very common to people cut the whole wires to tape it to the radio harness. There are plugs specifically for each car so you dont do the cutting thing. Found in car audio stores.
Maybe you blew a fuse


color codes:

red/yellow-- interior light (from dimmer switch)
white-------12volts constant
white/black--12 volts when ignition

white and white/red ---right front speaker
blue and black/blue---- left front speaker
light green and black/light green ---left rear speaker
grey and grey/black ------right rear speaker

black---- ground
