I have a 1993 Suzuki Sidekick with a 1.6L 8V. I have replaced the battery, coil, and ignitor however, there is still no spark. I checked the timing belt and the rotor still rotates therefore eliminating the timing belt. I have also tested the resistance in the ignition switch above the coil and it is within guidelines in the Chilton's Manual. The starter and ignition are good. Also, there is a ton a fuel so if I can only get the spark I would have a running truck. I was wondering if there are any other tests that I can try. I have been messing with this for a few weeks now and nothing. Please help. Thank you very much for all comments.
Now I maybe wrong, so if someone reads this please correct me. But, I believe that there is a magnetic sensor inside the distributor that sends a signal to the computer and this could be at fault or maybe you have a bad computer. just a thought.
yeah my uncle had a similar problem with his 94 sidekick. he replaced the entire distributor, coil, spark plugs, ignition wires, checked all fuses, everything he could think of. finally he talked to a guy who told him that sometimes the ecu caps explode/leak and make the ecu malfunction. so he had the ecu caps replaced for $200 and it's worked great ever since.
