Default V6 Help

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the group and I am a reasonably competent mechanic but I am facing quite an uphill struggle.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a service workshop manual for a 1996 Vitara V6 2.0 Litre?

I have a timing chain rattle on our V6, something I could do myself but my local dealers won’t adjust them without replacing the timing chain.

Thanks for your help.

Eamy

Are you sure of the engine type and model?

If it's a 2.5 V-6, there is a TON of info here.

Do a quick search.

Absolutely sure. The engine is an H20A V6 2.0 Litre petrol (gasoline) and the year first registered in 1996

Well, I've learned something today. I thought that the V-6 was introduced in 99' in the Grand Vitara. US maybe?
Then there are good 2.5 based timing chain threads like this one...

Service Manuals: e-bay or possibly...

Hey Eamy your not from North America eh. We never got the 2.0L V6 as far as know. You can get service manual straight from Suzuki.

Thanks Schoner

I have made a discovery today. Here in the UK, the 1996 Vitara V6 with the H20A engine was called the 'Sidekick' in North America.

I just want to be sure I've got the correct manual before paying for it, but it doesn't say on the pitstop site if the Sidekick has the H20A unit. Do you know if it does?

Thanks

Yea I noticed. I don't know if they do or not. It sure is hard to find info on the H20A.
