Hi I have a 97 sidekick 4x4 with 150,000 miles. It seems like the steering is not as tight as it used to be. I jacked it up and I believe I have a slightly loose bearing on one side and maybe a slightly loose front end part. I noticed that the bearings are cartridge type and I am not familier with these since other 4x4 I have owned you can repack the bearings and torque them. Is this something that I should worry about or easly fix myself? The tires have been wearing evenly.
unless that bearing is really loose you won't feel it in the steering. i recommend checking them (clean,re-pack). i am not familiar with a sidekick your year,i drive a 1992. i thought they would be the same for the whell bearings though. i clean/repack and adjust mine every 2 years.
