I have a 93 automatic with 320000 KM and havent touched the tranny, and I have beat the sh*t out of it. I think the filter has been changed twice and the fluid 3 times. I use to always rev it to 5000 RPM in nuetral an drop it into drive all the time.

O and they both have about the same top speed (160-170) but the auto is a little slower accelerating.

i live on vancouver island but im trying to buy one in miami and they are almost all automatic and air conditioned. that a/c will probably take 20kph off that top speed. im sending it to the bahamas and it will be lucky if it sees 60 mph. thanks again
