Fault Gauge What Does It Mean

Hi there

I have just bought a 1993 Escudo and at night while driving, one of the warning gauges comes on and there comes this high pitch noise from under the passenger glove box

no idea what it is, but it only happens when i drive at night i guess with the lights on.

any ideas where to start to get this mended, i live in a secluded area and no specilist mechanics.

Thats wierd. Not sure if theirs any realtion but if you have the alarm system its located under the glove box. Witch warning light comes on?

possibly the check engine light? im not sure if you have a reset light on your model or not, can you give a bit more description,
