welcome 96,

apparently follow the top rad hose to the intake manifold and it should be their, at least that's where it is on my 94 1.6l if you have the 1.8l then it will be mounted on the side of the intake (follow top rad hose to the intake) make sure the air bleed valve faces towards the front on the 1.6l and on the top (12:00 position) on the 1.8l,

hope this helps,

94box.

I have the same exact model. later today I'll ask my auto tech teacher...or ill look myself to see where it is. 94box is probably correct. I had a 92 escort and you followed the top radiator hose to the manifold its there. make sure to see what way the thermostat is in so when you replace it you dont put it in backwards. hope this helps at all. ill give you more info when i get it.

EDIT: The thermostat is on the bottom of the enging follow the bottom hose in and it should be there
