1994 Sidekick Alarm

Hi there. I am new to the forums and to suzukis. I just bought a 1994 sidekick js. It is basically the barebones model. Anyhow, I know there is an integrated alarm but don't know how to use it. I see a switch with an LED on my dash. Does that have something to do with it. Also, note that I do not have power door locks. Can someone let me know how to activate the alarm and how it works? Thanks.

it is kind of complicated, you have to flip the switch a few times then turn the ignition on and off. I am not really sure, let me get back to you, I have the instructions in my car.

Thanks. I am gonna try it tonight. But I would appreciate it if you could get me the specifics as to how exactly to activate it just in case I can't get it to work tonight.

to arm it push the switch on the dash (up is valet override) down then hold the transmitter button down for one second, and the alarm should chirp and it is on.

Well, that doesn't help me too much since I don't have a transmitter. I only got one key with the car. I thought it might only be something with the switch as I somehow managed to get the LED to start flashing. Then, when I got back into the car, I heard a ticking and was able to get that to stop by moving the switch and putting the key in the ignition. Not sure what that was then. Anyhow, again, thanks!
