Default Suzuki Kizashi

The Suzuki Kizashi is an upcoming mid size car from Suzuki. It will be the late successor to the GM Daewoo built Suzuki Verona. Production will start in early 2010 in Sagara, Japan, with North American production to likely be assembled at CAMI Automotive in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, just like most other North American mid-size sedans. Reports suggest that the car will be built on a front engine front/all wheel drive platform developed by Suzuki.

Default A good thing

I see this as a good thing. The Kizashi having the option of AWD and a powerful V6 will be a good thing. In my time in a Verona, it seems that it had so much potential, but just couldn't cut it. I feel the Kizashi will do what the Verona was supposed to do.

Sorry... where did this CAMI info come from? Please cite your source.

The cars coming to North America are being built in Japan.

Yes, and that's the only model currently built in Canada. I don't know of any plans to add another model to the CAMI plant.

THIS article from Motor Trend states that the car is based on the GM Epsiilon platform, which isn't too crazy to believe since the top engine choice will be the 3.6L (like the XL7 has) also found in the 2008- Chevy Mailbu...an Epsilon car as well.
Side note, however, the MT article also says the 3.6 is a direct-injection engine...which unless something big has changed, is not the case. So they might be totally full of cr@p anyways....oh well.
THIS review from Edmunds says entirely the oposite, saying that the Kizashi is on a totally new platform, sharing nothing with GM. I guess really we'll get to know probably next month when the sedan (still called "Kizashi" or not) is scheduled to debut in New York.
