Is this a problem ?

hi guys new to this forum have had a sami for a couple of months now and love it. I am from england but have the car in turkey were i live 4-5 months a year. it is a 1998 model but when the engine is just ticking over there is a noise from the air filter inlet like a small compresser noise but when i rev engine it stops.Is this a problem that needs to be fixed or justan age problem

Probably the IAC (Idle Air Control). The IAC is a computer-controlled vacuum valve that opens and closes very quickly to maintain the idle RPMs. On my U.S. 1991 Samurai, it is mounted towards the front of the intake manifold. And when operating, it makes a very noticeable ticking noise.

thank you haptown this is the same on mine so it does not seem to be a problem just a small nagging noise
