Is there interest in a KPH gearcalc?

Us mean 'ol USAens are always handing out advice and commentary without regard to stuff like metrics which the rest of the world commonly uses. Heck, we drive on the wrong side of the road relative to many of you and fairly reek of superiority because of it!

So, are you angry enough to go to the window, open the window and shout to the world "I'M MAD AS HECK AND I'M NOT GOING TO PUT UP WITH IT ANYMORE! I WANT A METRIC (KPH) GEAR CALCULATOR!"???

If that is how you truly feel, speak out in this thread! Let me know what you want in a Metric Gear Calculator - other than KPH vs MPH which is a given - that would please you to no end.

Thanks Ack for the nice thread. It is only in the UK and US the Mile and Inch are used, however, ironically, they drive on different sides

In our region (Arabian Gulf) we drive on the same side as the US (the right side) but use metric. In Australia, they drive on the wrong side (UK side), but they use Metric. There is no consistency; it should go like this: if you use Metric, driver should be on the right, if you use inches, driver should be on the left or vice versa.

Ah well ... we managed to work things out I can almost think in both Miles and Kilometers.

some of the metric places use imperial gallons which is different than liters or U.S. galons. Also, some metric places use liters per 100 kilometers as opposed to Miles/gallon or liters/gallon. I just use convertit.com when I need to figure out a conversion.

I'm from Aus, so i watch my speedo in KPH from the right hand side of my sierra, i put 40 litres of fuel in my tank, and when something goes wrong i reach for my metric toolkit.

Anything else is crazy talk!

You know this is one of the problems ... the Samurai is a Japanese car, so all the bolts are in metric, but the aftermarket parts I'm buying from the US are based on inches, so I have to have two tool sets, one in metric and the other in inches.
