95 tracker code 42??

Hello,
I just pulled a code 42 off of my tracker. From what I can gather it's a camshaft position sensor circuit problem. The symptoms I have don't match the problem so I'm a little confused . My fuel economy has gone way done and the check engine light was on. I figured it would be the typical code 13 o2 sensor. The symptoms for the cmp circuit are no or hard starting and stalling. Any ideas?

If the sensor is giving bad readings, wouldn't it act like the timing is off? Sounds like you are right about the reading.

Does your Tracker have TBI fuel injection or Multi-point fuel injection?
