Default 31x10.5x15's on stock wheels

Will they fit? Any concerns, thanks!

Stock wheels are only 5.5" wide... I think your trying to pull belt a little too tight.
I run 12.5" wide tires on 8" wheels and I think THAT is barely enough.

BFG specifies 7-9" rims for their All-Terrain T/A KO (my tire) in that size. There's gotta be a good reason. The stock wheel just isn't that close.

Edit: BFG specifies 5.5 - 7 inch rims for their 215/75R15 All-Terrain T/A KO (as a reference point). You _might_ be able to go as wide as 235's, but even that is pushing it ['cause BFG calls for 6" (min) rims].

With a mild 2" lift needed for the VW Diesel, what you guys recommend for a tire size using the stock rims. 90% on road / 10% off road and hoping to yield the best MPG out of diesel. Thanks for the above comments and any other suggestions!

For those requirements, I would honestly stay close to stock. Stock is a 205/75/15R. Going to a 215 or 225 would work.
