Well, that sucks.
You will have to remove the head, but I am afraid the problem could be major.
Look for a valve that may have broken and may be bouncing around in there. This could damage the head, piston and the cylinder.
Next could be a piston skirt that has cracked off. That would cause the piston to tilt as it moves up and down and that will damage the cylinder, piston (of course) and possibly the valves depending on how twisted it got.
And the last thing I can think of could be a rod or rod bearing cap that has broken. Could cause a window in the side of the block.
Best thing to do would be to pull the head first, and then possibly the motor if the damage isn't evident. Be forwarned, it could get expensive, and if you don't have any experiance in motor rebuilding then it may take awhile...
