hello, lots of newbie questions.
hello, We are currently looking to buy a Sierra Stockman traytop, 1993. BUT, we know little about them, other than they come recommended for our fishing and 4wd'ing interests. The car looks well worn/used, but interestingly has only 93000kms on the clock. The car has not been detailed, so its in its raw state (in my view, a good thing). Other than general mechanical things which we have a general knowledge of (being classic car restorers), what do we need to look for, check out etc? Are there well known rust areas, noises, weak points to check? We have also been told that the Maruti version is not as good. BUT, not as good as what? AND, when did that version/build begin? We have done some research on internet etc, and it would seem that in Australia, Maruti (India) began building the Stockman in 1994, true/false? So, how do we break down the I.D. plate for build codes etc. ANY help/links would be greatly appreciated. thank you, Lana
