Jimny brake pedal bite

I have a suzuki Jimny 2005, i have just replaced the front discs and pads. The brake pedal bite is lower than before and i have not disturbed the brake fluid at all. I also changed the pads on my fathers Diahatsu Terios, this also suffered the same problem, his owners book gave a guide how to reset the brake pedal bite by following a processs of pressing the pedal and turning off and restarting the engine. My owners book suggests take to the dealer, is there a similar reset process for the Jimny does anyone know.
