Default suzuki jimny JLX+ 08 - starting problem

hi
i have resently purchased the above and with the weather being cold have had problem starting first thing
have taken back to garage and had diagnostic check which says nothing wrong
once engine is running and warmed up there is no problem re starting so assume it is a temperature thing
my previous Jimny ( from new and 8 years later is still going great ) gave me no trouble at all and so don't think it is me that is the problem
has anyone else had a similar problem and if so how did you resolve it?

Question 2006 Jimny JLX+ 1.3L Petrol Auto Fuel Problems

I have a late 2006 UK Jimny JLX+ Auto which has always suffered very bad cold weather starting. The engine floods and then needs clearing by turning the engine over while holding the throttle pedal fully down. When it does finally cough into life, the garage fills with dreadful overpowering petrol fumes. In mild weather it starts fine.

Also our fuel consumption varies from 18mpg for town work, to 26mpg on careful long runs. Our Jimny has constantly been back to Suzuki dealers, who test it and declare there is nothing wrong, and that the Jimny model is heavy on fuel. I have complained to Suzuki UK who just point us back to the dealers.

Can other Jimny owners past and new please post your mpg experiences here, as it is spoiling our ownership of an otherwise lovely little fun vehicle, especially as our other vehicle is a LandRover Discovery2 TD5 which returns 25 to 30mpg, despite being twice the size, weight and engine size as our cute Jimny.
