Default Need advice for simplifying my '88 samurai.

I am looking to really simplify my '88 samurai's engine setup. If possible, Id like to completely eliminate the ECU and all the electronic controls like O2, Idle-ups, AFR valves, E-choke, etc. Just go back to the basics of a simple carb and an engine. Most of the gauges would have to be aftermarket since Im sure the ECM controls some of the stock ones. Id also add an A/F gauge to get the AFRs right. As far as compensating for the lack of electronic control, Id just let it idle around 1200 RPM or so to cover the accessories (it probably won't even have AC, as the AC now doesn't really do much anyways, heh).

Does this sound OK? Could I do this would the 32/36 carb, or would I need something simpler? Or, hell, could I do this with a stripped-out stock carb?

Thanks!
