Default Fuel flow problem

Hello, I have a 96 sierra soft top, the problem I'm having is that occasionaly the car revs up, down, up, down (850 - 1300 - 850rpm etc) all by itself whether idling or driving, the only way I can stop it is to turn off the engine. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Could be caused by a sticky accelerator cable. Give it a spray with WD40 or similar at the joints. Check all the associated fuel filters and any point(s) where the fuel narrows in its flow ie. jets in the carby/ injectors. Had that happen to me on my first suzi. All the best.
