I want to find the vehicle identification number that is stamped into the frame rails or stamped on the body (not the pop riveted plate) on a 1985 through 1988 Samurai. I am trying to buy one and the plate is missing from the left side of the dash panel. I need to see if the stamped vehicle identification number matches the license plate number and title (through Public Data). Any help will be greatly appreciated.
