Help - I'm stumped on this one.

Just took out my std Jimny radio to replace it with a Sony CD changer. Wired it in without actually fitting the radio into its slot , & it all worked OK. However, on installing the radio into the slot, the circuit for the radio/clock/interior lights stopped working.
I assumed I dislodged something, but no. I've checked all connectors and they are sound. I've checked the fuse for this circuit & it is OK. I've even traced back with a multimeter "beeper" the wiring from the radio connector to the fusebox, and this is also unbroken.

Any ideas what the hell this could be ? There's nothing obvious behind the radio slot to dislodge, & frankly I'm baffled.
