I asked the guys at my Suzuki garage the same question. I wanted the Suzuki VVT engine in my 2000 year Jimny. They told me to make sure to get the electronical control boxes and electrical wiring that goes with the engine as well. If not I would get in trouble. The boxes are the Electronical Control Module (ECM) for the engine and the Transmission Control Module (TCM) for the automatic transmission. Their opinion was clear; Forget it, it’s easier to get another car.

I decided to go with their recommendation.

i got one question for you, not sure which engine your taking out, i've heard some of those jumny's have the 1.0, if that's the case you need to replace the tranny also
