I bought my '86 Sammy with the knowledge that it needed a starter (it can be bumped started no problem). I purchased another starter and installed it in what I believe to be the correct way (the old one was unwired). But, now when I attempt to start it the battery shorts out instantly and becomes dead. I tried this with both the ignition switch and a underhood hood remote switch. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for me to check or do you have an idea what this is an indication of? Thanks!
