I just purchased a 1988 Samaurai and when it is first started it runs about 2500 rpm and I would like to know where the adjustment is to reduce the idle speed when its running on the choke during warm up. Perhaps it is running at the correct speed but I think it is too high

Hi Smokin: I persisted in finding the adjustment screw for the fast idle speed on choke and did find it. Look at the rear side of the carburetor and down low on the carb is the hidden little adjustment screw. Just rotate the throttle lever around slightly until you can get a screw driver on the adjuster screw and back it off a few turns. The next time it starts you will see a change in the rpm. If its too slow you can play with the setting til you are comfortable with it... good luck.
