What is the difference between a samurai and a sidekick. My goal is to buy one cheap ($1000) to use as a hunting 4X4. Could you list the differences such as weight, power, years they were built, why one would be better in my application then the other, etc. The weight is of particular interest as I was thinking I could transport it on my sled deck (It's rated at 3000 lbs) Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

my samurai is about 1250kg and it is a hard top so take about 50kg off of it for the metal top.... sidekicks are more comfortable than samurais but i dont think you can push them as hard

i dont know about newer samurais but mine har removable carpet (which i threw out for mud driving) and it has removable floor plugs.... which enables me to wash out the car after i fill it with mud:P

Samurai all the way. I have had my 92 since 95 and I love it. Go about anywhere a 4 wheeler will. Great in snow and mud with the right tires. Good luck.
