Default EPS light ON

My 2004 Suzuki Ignis with 80,000km mileage, EPS indicator light up this morning & stay on. I disconnected the battery hope that it will reset, but the EPS indicator stay on after I reconnect & start the car.
Appreciate if anyone could help & explain, what is wrong with it & how to get rid of the EPS indicator light. Is there any sensor that is out of order? Please help. Thanks!

If you do not feel any difference in the steering, this could well be due to a bad battery.
