Danger - Accelerator Sticking!
Hi,
My Mum has a Y Reg Ignis (2001), automatic.
The accelerator has now got stuck several times... it's as if an invisible foot slams down on the accelerator, causing the car to speed ahead.
This happened a couple of years ago, when the car was put into reverse, and caused the Ignis to accelerate into another parked car.
Yesterday it happened again... twice... once in reverse, then soon after in 'drive'... and my Mum narrowly missed causing a serious accident.
We're having a mechanic take a look (it's booked in for next Monday), and the car definitely won't be driven until the problem is fixed.
I wondered whether anyone else has had this problem... and if so, which part needs to be replaced?
