unfortunately I haven't enough time and only just now I can to look suzuki website

if you still interesting about ignis engine M13A-16V VVT I found only this short information .This engine 1,3 was equipped with special silent chain
I have only this….

POWER
The new IGNIS offers a choice of 3 efficient, low-emission engines: 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engines, and a 1,248cm3 DDiS diesel engine. Both petrol engines are equipped with Suzuki’s Variable Valve Timing, which enables cleaner, more efficient burning of fuel and smoother running performance at mid-range engine speeds. A catalytic converter and oxygen sensor further reduce emissions. Engine noise is kept to a minimum by a wide range of smartly designed technologies, including a silent chain. All models are available with a five-speed manual transmission with gear ratios set to maximize driving performance. Also offered on the 1.5-litre petrol engine models is a 4-speed automatic transmission optimized for the characteristics of the engine. Its precise electronic control contributes to smooth gear changes.

information it concerns older version Ignis , I suppose that the main engine structure is the same …..

I can not insert pictures .... sorry

the 1.3 vvt engine, aswell as the 1.3 DDIS engine have chains...
and all the Grand vitara's have timing belts.... this is rly stupid... u put chain on a 1.3 engine on a small and light car, but u don't put it on a 1.9 on a bigger and heavyer car... ?
