Question Electricity problem

I got a strange problem. At low speed or while standing engine suddenly stops. Then you just start it again without any difficulty. The same time the clock (and even radio sometimes) get reset! So, it looks like a general electric failure. I was suggested to change the cam sensor, but do not understand how the sensor could reset clock?

Thanks, Misha.

i had a cam sensor problem and it didnt reset any clocks/cd players and stuff. im having a little bit of the same problem with mine at the minute, though that is only because my revs are a little too low. best thing to do would be to take it to a dealer, and let him stick it on a machine, the problem may have logged by your car.

Thanks. Are you having your clock reset now?
There are no error messages in the log. Did you have errors when there was a cam sensor problem? The point is that the car behaves normally -- no low revolutions, nothing, until it stalls certainly... That's why I'm not running to replace the cam sensor.

I know I dont have your car, but i had a simular problem with a past car. Does your radio reset, lights flicker, and power out right? It very well could be that your battery is dead and even worse, your alternator could be dead. In that case, you may need to replace the alternator wich is not too exspensive, but still a lot of money.

I agree with Melissa, take your car to advance auto, or a parts store close to you and they most likely will check your charging system for free and let you know if it is the battery or alternator

I agree with you on everything except the proper use of super glue!
J/K! I think you hit the nail on the head with his problem, I would put money on it.

Hi, Melissa22 and Jaxreno!
Thanks a lot. But... please give me some credit of doubt!

Battery, alternator, and power wiring were naturally the first thing to check.

I suspect a loosy contact to the on board computer or alike. But without a diagram I cannot find even where it is. The car is running for a couple of weeks smoth, after may be 5 failures... Electronics is a science about contacts :-)
