When Did The 5 Door Model Change

Hi

We live in the midlands & are after a low mileage 5 dr suziki ignis.One garage told me that the model changed at 04 04 & the the previous model is much better.
The garage sais that the mk1 was built in japan & is a better build quality & went on to mention that the latest version since 04 is built in Hunagry & of a lesser driving experience/build quality.
Can someone advise me what reg plate the 5dr Ignis changed & if it is any wider as we are after one so that it can fit down our narrow driveway.
