Hi all, does anyone know what the maximum size is for wheels to fit a 1.3 Ignis GL? It's a '55 reg and has the standard 14ins fitted but I would like to change them for something a bit smarter.
Thanks

Hiya ,I have a sport with 17 inch wheels on mine with 205/40 tyres on fitted no problem , and i have lowered the suspension by 35 mm.
I have a spare set of alloys from the sport , the white spoke ones which are 15 inches in diameter , only done about 1000 miles on them so tyres are almost as good as new , i think they would look really smart on your ignis , if you are interested just make me a offer.
cheers
chris

I just found out that bigger wheels means higher speeds, Obvious really I suppose. Is the difference very noticeable and am I likely to get stuck with a speeding ticket? Does it mean that the speedo reading is incorrect?
Chris thanks for offering to sell your surplus wheels, I wouldn't know what to offer to be honest. I'll get back to you on this one. Cheers.

Hiya , yes the bigger wheels will make a difference to your speedo reading , the difference on mine going from 15 inch to 17 inch was 1.93% so almost 2mph at 100mph , dont think its anythink to worry about .
Ok let my know about the wheels , no rush at mo , but will be going on e-bay at sometime.

I have 16 inch alloys on my Ignis GLS (SE in Denmark). You cannot go much wider due to the tyre scraping the inside of the car frame on a full turn. BTW, I use my GPS to indicate my speed - a hell of a lot more accurate.

now we are talking about tyre sizes - what about tyre width; what's the max. 200 (mm)?
