Only 25 Mpg On An Auto Ignis 1.3?

Hello,
My parents bought a used automatic Suzuki Ignis 1.3 GL a year or so ago. It's done 30,000 miles, and is a Y reg (01).
It's in good condition, and serviced regularly... but after two thorough checks, it only does 25 miles per gallon (around town, and driven conservatively).
Surely something is wrong?

Hi Richard my 2003 1.3GL Ignis Auto has averaged 34 miles per gallon over
20000 miles. I have had upto 41 miles to the gallon using Super Unleaded on
a long run and Super gives you better performance but at a cost.

In metric my Ignis non-sport 1.3GS 69kw (94HP) makes around 7,5l/100km. And I have a heavy foot

Richard, I also get terrible mileage from my 2001 Ignis auto and 2000 Ignis around 8.7 L/100K. I think the auto boxes are very lossy.

In-efficient torque converter etc.

Maybe the later models fixed this.
