Hi. I'm new here. Googled around and found myself here.

Did a quick run-thru of the discussions.

There's mention of a K&N induction or something. This is more than the regular 'drop-in' element from K&N right? I've been using the drop-in element on my 04 Ignis Sport. It works well, but I'm looking for something more (in terms of 'noise' and grunt).

An option was to ditch the stock filter box and go for an open-pod (sited near the throttle body) but am concerned about this set-up will pick up way too much heat from the engine and also losing low-end torque that comes with the reduced intake route. The last time I checked, the shops weren't keen to run a cold-air intake (the pipercross viper) as it means having to shift too much stuff to free up space.

By the way, this Ignis Sport is in Singapore. Lots of annoying urban traffic and horribly hot weather for most part of the year... hence the concerns. Any ideas?

Thanks

A simple solution to this is to get a bodywork specialst to create a scoop in the bonet for you. With this, cold air can be applied directly to the K&N filter (which does not have a cold air feed) producing more power and keeping everything nice and cool. The only downside is a posibility of inscreed drag on the front of the car.
