Default 2007 Forenza a/c recharge question

I am trying to locate the low pressure side valve to recharge the system. I found a tube near the passenger side of the firewall with a green cap. Is this the low side? Thanks in advance

no, thats the high pressure side and has the letter H imprinted on the cap. The low pressure valve is even closer to the firewall, between the throttle body and the fender, below the air intake hose. It has a black cap.

how often are you suppost or need to recharge the a/c i have a 07 reno and the air doesnt seem to get cold enough for me even on max it would prob help if i tint the windows but in Va the tint laws are so light id have to go with with 50% on fronts and 35% on rears id rather do 20% all the way around but would risk getting tickets left and right

you shouldn't really need to recharge a 07 unless there is a leak.. but at the same time.. keep in mind that... the ac sucks quite a bit in these cars.. there is a thread about "ac not cold enough".. its just the way it is..

from walmart.. you might want to invest in a can of refrigerant that comes with a gauge.. plug that gauge in and read the value.. chances are it has the correct amount. last year, I put a little extra.. taking it to the top of the acceptable pressure range.. not more.. didnt really make a difference.. this year.. i wanted to do the same.. but over charged it by mistake and then had to pay a shop to hook up the ac system to the machine to get it corrected.

one suggestion is to have your "recycle" on.. it helps a lot.. the cooler the inside gets, the colder air it blows.

Yeah i notice that in the past i rarely used my ac but since this summer has been so warm i have been using the ac alot lately. I also notice that the A/C robs the performace of the car.

yes I always use it on recycle after the a/c starts to feel cooler so it does blow harder at least

I figured the cap with the H was the high side. Thank you for the reply. The A/C does work a bit and hoping the recharge kit works & I do not have a leak

Default Success

Found the low side and added the refrigerant to the system. Will have to see if it stays or if there is a leak. A/C working well!! Thanks to all that replied.
