Me and a friend have been working at pulling a cv joint off of my 2005 reno for over 4 hours prying at it and pulling at the base and its not budging.. are there any techniques i could use to help pull it out wihtout ruining the cv axel?
They sometime oxidize in the splines of the cv into the transmission. I have used a long 5ft pry bar and some PB Blast (breaks down rust) to get it out. When you put the new or old one back on, use some wheel bearing grease or transmission assembly gel on the shaft to ease the reinstallment.
