Default High Beams Work, but NO LOW BEAMS!! Please help!!

I need some help you guys. For a while, my high beams wouldn't work unless i held the switch back, now they work normally. Unfortunately, my low beams both quit working at the same time. I know it has to be a problem with the switch in the steering column because all of my fuses are intact and unbroken and my bulbs are still intact. Please help. I need to know how to get that big plastic cover off of the steering column to get to the headlight switch and wiring. For a bonus point, can anyone describe what this switch's wiring looks like under the steering column. Thanks for the help!!

it sounds like you might need to take the car in for the lighting recall.

If you have not had the DRL recall then get that done but sounds like a possible open/shorting issue under the left front fender.
