i think that when i re install them i'll use the magnet. I'm guessing either the torque on the pliers is what crack the insulator. It's a good idea.

+1 on the iridium type. They are the longest lasting plug. but they are not as good of a conductor as say copper and nickle. also I have done some research and according to the e3 website the plug is NOT iridium, it is a nickle alloy... but i do not know that they(the e3) are reliable, sure the tests show they perform better but there is nothing that says how long they last. if anyone has had them in their car for more than 30k+ miles let me know how they are.

if you look at more hard core applications in professional racing. Not many people use the iridium plugs. Many more use Platinum plugs. I'm not sure why but i remember reading that somewhere. Formula 1, Top Fuel, and whole bunch of others all use like platinum plugs with no electrode.

My car is at about 50,000kms and I havent replaced mine yet.. Aside from ordering from that website, what size do I need and could I buy some from Canadian tire?

I used NGK BKR6EK (p/n 2288) in mine... 99% similar to the stock bosch with the 2 ground electrodes. Way cheaper than the dealer, but UAP/Napa will rob you if you try to buy there.

My source was Rockauto.com, they're now a huge 4.41$each compared to all those that paid 25$ for a gimmick plug. If that worked so well, don't you think they would be used as OEM?

no cuz they are relatively new and why would an OEM take a bulk order from a company that small. remember OEM's are the same folks that use lesser quality metals to insure that certain pieces of vehicles fail after extended use so you literally one day will have to buy a new car. I will always pay the extra for every aftermarket part i can afford. And as for it being a gimmick, check the numbers. I can feel the difference and i see it on my trips to the gas station.

plus how many gimmick companies stand by their product so much that even after a customer admits to accidentally breaking two of their $25 dollar spark plugs that they overnite them new ones at no cost. I'd love to see Brake planet or the E charger guys do that. Don't knock it till you try it.
