Perfect power does a pretty good job at controlling pricing so I doubt you'll ever find any of there products this cheap.
Retail for the SMT-6 is $390 and the SMT-7 is $569.
Ontop of the piggy backs there are also several stand alones, fuel tuner (which can raise the RPMs), turbo fueler, ethanol controllers, wideband, ignition amp, and a auto inverter
how difficult would it be for me to install myself?
as far as tuning, what are some of the available options? does the unit need to be in the car to be tuned, or can i bring it inside and tune it on my PC before installing?

Uhm, if you have all the wiring diagrams and that sorta stuff it shouldn't be too hard. Mine only has 15 wires tops hooked up.
Then you can also get the "Test jig" for $32 which helps you make sure everything working alright as you go through step by step installing it.
I'm not sure if you can tune it outside the car. I would think not because piggy backs only fool the ECU, not actually change it.
Another nice thing about it is you can have a tune for daily driving, racing, and emissions.

I would totally pick an SMT-6 up but unfortunately I have alot to do before I need one as I am going N/A... I was also looking at getting some type of digital dash instead of gauges. But that is a little way off...

even with just an intake and exhaust, a piggy-back will show gains. our OEM afr is really lean...with a nice tune, you could get maybe 10 hp...obviously you'll get more when you do more, but if you can get it for cheap like this, why not?
danny, i'm gonna have to get back to you on this...i need to see if i can get a loan. if that plan fails, then i'm gonna have to hold off till the engine is paid for.
Yeah guys if you can cough up the money then I'd shoot for it. The best price I've ever seen on SMTs is 10% off retail and that's rare if you even know where to look.
