Default CV Shaft

SO today while turning right I heard a huge thump, it was too dark to look underneath, but my steering is way off and I am guessing that my axle let go on the right hand side, which would answer the question about the noise but if the steering is way off does that make it more then one problem?

Thanks

If your CV joint gave out and broke the car would no longer move, if you gave it gas you would hear the engine rev up but the car would not move that is just the way that slip differentials are when one of the axles is broken.

I would wait until morning or get a very powerful light and take a look at it to see what happened.

What should I be looking for?

Compare both sides of the car, if may help if you put it up on jack stands so that you can get a better look at things, does one wheel seem to be at an odd angle compared to the wheel on the other side of the car?

Check you back wheels too if one of them had something go wrong it could affect your steering as well.

When you are turning do you hear any clicks, clinks, thumps, or chattering?

When turning right it thumps.

looks to be a right front subframe issue, the surrounding bolt is completely rusted and cracked.

yeah, ive seem hundreds like that. check with your dealer and even call suzuki head office. they extended the warranty on these for that issue.
likely wont cover the whole repair but you may get the parts paid for if you make enough noise..

You must live somewhere where they salt the roads in the winter, mine has 140k miles on it and looks nothing like that.
