Default check engine light?

hey guys,
i got a 97 Baleno, and since i got it i've had a problem with the check engine light coming on. my dad is a mechanic, he can't figure it out. we changed the O2 sensor and the light switched of 4 about a month but its back on again. there doesn't seem to be anything else wrong with my car either.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Have it scanned for codes that will tell you what is wrong with the engine, then post what you found, chances are one of us has probably already had the same problem.

I've never heard of a "parcel shelf" What kind of shelf is that?

Sorry, you've lost me again, here in the US boots are something you put on your feet when whatever you are doing would ruin normal shoes.

But if you mean the place under the back window where the speakers are, making new one with the right sized holes would be a good idea.

The 98's have two oxygen sensors, so would suspect the ninety sevens are the same.

Have it scanned, or better still buy a scanner on ebay for around twenty four dollars.

fyi i think your referring to the rear dash. it has holes for 6inch speakers.cutting holes for 6X9 isn't easy. good luck with that one. also i had the same problem with my 98 engine light. i took out the bulb. now im my own engine light.
