Exclamation 2000 1.8 Esteem stalling at a complete stop HELP!

So I drove my 1.8 2000 Esteem from Las Vegas, NV and made it to just before portland oregon (on my way to Washington State). When I came to a complete stop in Portland my car stalled out.

I pulled off the road, got the car to stay running, pulled back on the road and it stalled again.

As long as I'm giving it gas and driving the car runs, until I have to stop. Then it drops to under 500 rpms, and dies.

Before I left I changed oil, oil filter, transmission fluid, air filter, spark plugs, and also put in an injector cleaner.

I ran premium gas the whole trip (usually run cheap regular).

But now I'm in Washington and stuck. Any suggestions?

Please help!

(I called a dealer to get a fuel filter, and he told me there isnt one on this car. I know nothing about foreign cars, if it were a dodge or chevy I'd be OK. Just OK, nothing more than OK lol)

I don't know about the 1.8 but the 1.6 engine does have a fuel filter, it is mounted on the firewall next to the brake system.

Go to my website: http://home.comcast.net/~retrocruiser/99suzuki/ and then click on the EMISSIONS section, then click on the link for the EGR valve, scroll down through the pictures you will see the fuel filter on the left hand side of the pictures in the back ground, it is black and shiny with a hose going in the bottom and coming out the top.

I live down in Portland OR what part of Washington are you in?

yea, the dealer told me the 1.6 has one, but the 1.8 does not.

I just got an oxygen sensor and I'm going to put that on to see if it works...

Also, I'm in Centralia/Chehalis. Just under 70 miles north of Portland.

I would come up and help but that is too far to go for me at this point in time and I'm moving tomorrow.
